Huntington Beach, California, April 15, 2010 - Beech Sandal Company announced today its partnership with non-profit organization Soles4Souls charity in support of their ongoing relief efforts to provide footwear to those in need around the world.  With the recent earthquakes in Haiti, Chile and Mexico there is a growing need for donations and Beech contributed over 1,000 pairs of Yoga Sandals® Footwear to the recovery effort.

Soles4Souls has gathered support for Haiti’s earthquake victims with the help of donations from consumers and footwear companies nationwide. The charity has collected over 750,000 pairs of shoes for the relief effort and may well surpass their committed pledge of 1 million pairs of shoes to the region.

April is designated as National Foot Health Awareness Month and Beech wanted to highlight the ongoing need to help provide shoes to those who have suffered from a natural disaster or are hurting for other reasons both internationally and domestically.  Footwear is a basic human need and since 2005, Soles4Souls has given away over 8 million pairs of new and gently worn shoes in 125 countries including Haiti, Kenya, Nepal and the United States. 

The initiative continues a Beech Sandal Company mission to identify and support charitable organizations promoting health, wellness and social responsibility.  The company has donated its unique footwear with health benefits and a portion of proceeds to a number of charitable causes including The Susan G. Komen for the Cure Breast Cancer Foundation, the Alzheimer’s Association and the Yoga Health Foundation.
